As he wrapped his hands around her and they kissed, Kadie also forgot about the cold and everything else. And she wasn't freaking out by this at all. Yes, she was still scared of getting hurt. And she was scared of hurting him. But at the moment, it was rather hard to think about even that.
She pulled back a little after a moment, but then she laid her head on his shoulder. She hardly knew what to say. What did this mean? She wasn't exactly sure.
"So, what now?" she asked. She wasn't exactly sure she was ready to define their relationship yet, but she still had to ask.

Erik chuckled and held her close, the snow falling all over their jackets and even the ground. His cheeks turned a rather dark shade of pink, because of the cold and his breath came in ragged intakes.
“I thought you knew! I, myself, have no idea what I am going to do!” he added and looked at her, while running a hand along her jaw line.
“You’re beautiful, you know that!” he laughed and sighed, thinking about this situation even more. What were they going to do exactly? This was way too confusing.

Kadie bit her lip slightly. But she smiled as he ran a hand along her jaw-line. She had no idea about any of this. She looked up at him as he called her beautiful. She gave him a soft smile. She never usually cared if guys thought she was beautiful or not. But she was glad that he thought so.
"I'm glad you think so," she said giving his jaw a quick kiss. Crap, she was definitely in trouble. She should be running away. Just a few more minutes, and then I'll run away from this, she thought to herself. But did she even want to run? At the moment, no. But she was still scared as hell. She hadn't allowed a guy to make her feel like this. But if she didn't think she could do a relationship, why in the world was she letting him hold her like this? She really didn't want him to stop.
"I'm not so sure we should be doing this, Erik. But at the same time, it feels really good," she said honestly.

Erik gave a sad smile and looked at the sky. He wanted to escape this as well, but how could he, when it all felt so right, yet so wrong at the same time.
“I want this to end, but at the same time I don’t. Maybe a couple more minutes? But no, this is so immoral. " Erik made a slight pause.
“Just …um…” he started, but did not know what to do. He hugged her even more tightly and kissed the top of her head, sighing deeply.

She understood his words, because she felt them herself. Dang it all, where was the usual fiesty girl who pushed guys away when they got too close? She couldn't think straight when he was holding like this.
But why was this happening anyway? Why her? Did she even trust this at all? Shouldn't she be pushing him away? Maybe she'd be able to think more clearly if he wasn't holding her. She was sure that something with her and Erik wouldn't work. He was a player, and she had been a player herself. But at the same time, she wanted this. This was all so very confusing. She kept telling herself to push him away, but she held him tighter as he held her tighter. She was certain though that she couldn't trust her heart.
"I really don't know about any of this," she said with a slight shrug.
"I just............I'm not sure that a relationship with us would work. And I'm not sure I'm even willing to find out. I went through hell in my last relationship, and I just.......I can't do it again. I'm not saying you are like who I was with, but........" she trailed off and gave a confused sigh.

Erik shook his head and looked down at Kadie. He heard and knew a bit about her past, but not much.
“I know how you feel and I can’t guarantee you I won’t hurt you, because I am pretty sure I will, because I’m an idiot and I can’t see what is right even though it is in front of my eyes. I like you a lot and I’m pretty sure you do like me too, but this is strange and hard for both of us. Maybe we’ll just keep it the way it was before, if you don’t want anything else happening between us at the moment!”
He made a slight pause and smiled sadly, not sure if he wanted to continue or even hear her answer. “Wow, that was a mouthful of words, hard ones though!”

At his words, she hardly knew what to say. But she was glad that he was being honest with her. He couldn't promise her that he wouldn't hurt her. And she couldn't promise that she wouldn't hurt him.
"Yeah, I do like you Erik, a lot. I'm honest enough with myself to admit to that much. But maybe we should stop this before we both end up hurt," she said softly. She gently pushed him away and stood up to put some distance between them. She could think more clearly now that there was a comfortable distance between them. She didn't want to just walk away though with things the way they were. She was determined to avoid him at least for a few days to clear her head, and to try to forget about the fact that she did like him. But they were friends, weren't they? She should at least try to salvage whatever friendship they did have, even if maybe both of them did want more.
It was crazy to her that they could like each other like this, when they'd met only two months ago, had had a one-night-stand, and hadn't seen each other since. In all fairness, they had talked quite a bit that night. And well, the whole experience had been unlike any Kadie had ever had.
"So, you've tried out for some of the sports teams haven't you?" she asked him. Stupid question, but she was trying to think of something to say; anything to say really, instead of just walking away.

Erik chuckled and looked away for a couple of moments. “I really do understand what you are saying and I agree!”
“I joined a couple of teams, well the most important was Lacrosse of course, but I’m thinking of joining hockey and maybe art club. There are lots of pretty girls there!” he said and laughed.
“What about you? Are you thinking of joining anything?”

Kadie nodded, and smiled a bit at his response.
"Yeah, I'm very into sports. I love basketball and soccer, and tennis, and a few others. I probably won't do them all this year though. Maybe just a few," she responded. She stuck her hands in her pockets, already getting cold and already tempted to go back on the bench and wrap her arms around him again. She dared to sit down on the bench again, but she kept her hands in her pockets; where she told herself, they belonged.
"Art club huh? Are you really good at art?" she asked him.

“Actually, I kind of suck at art,” he added and dug his hands in his pockets even more! "But there are lots of pretty girls there that could help me! It’s going to most definitely be fun! You should join! “
Erik relaxed and yawned a bit. It was getting late and he was most definitely hungry and tired. “Give me a call sometimes. We can talk and have some fun as friends of course,” he said and smiled, before getting up.

She smiled as he admitted that he sucked at art.
"Maybe I'll join. I've always loved art," she replied with a shrug. And she really did. She had a passion for painting especially. But her major passion was writing.
"And sure. I'll look forward to hanging with you soon," she replied with a nod at his next comments. She got up, and before she really knew what she was doing, she kissed him on the cheek. She pulled back blushing a little. Now why did I have to go and do that? she thought to herself.
"See you," she said with a slight smile as she walked off.

“See ya,” he whispered as he smiled a bit, putting his hand to his cheek. He needed to let Kadie go; it was going to hurt a little, but he needed to treat her like all the other girls.
He shook his head and started walking to wards the castle, his thoughts being even more confused than when they were before. He sighed and kept walking….
