Lyra lay in bed glad it was the week end. After all the days of getting up early and doing work. She could sleep as much as she wanted to and take her time to do practically anything she wanted to. She lay bungled in covers so not to get cold. It was like a shell around her perfectly formed to her shape. She lay there with not a care in the world.
a few minutes later the worst happened. Her phone rang. Unwillingly she sired from her peaceful untroubled sleep and reached out from her warm barrier agents the cold to grab her phone. It took a couple of seconds to get it, but soon she had retrieved it. She brought her hand back and put the phone ageist her ear. "Yes?" she asked in a tired voice. Then she heard the happy and wake voice next. "Oh sweet heart did I wake you? I though you would be at work by now." her mother said down the phone. "Day off" she said keeping the chat to a minimum. "oh ok, well I won’t keep you any longer then, just wanted to see how you are, bye love you." "Same" she said as she hung up the phone. Then she opened her eyes to the reality of morning. She groaned a little, and slowly rose from her bed. Placing her phone on the Sid.
She was so tired, but she knew one way to wake up. She grabbed her swimming stuff and made her way to the pools. When there she got changed into her yellow bikini and walked over to a starting block. She stood with her toes over the edge a little. Put her goggles over her eyes and jumped in letting the cold water cover her like a blanket.

Vincent had been up early. He actually did some homework, and then went to the dining area to grab a cup of coffee. Then, he want back to his dorm room. He was still a little tired, but rowdy people in his dorm hall kept him up. So he was forced to do some exploring. This was his second year at Adelaide, and yet he still hadn't been to the pool area. Perfect opportunity, Vincent thought.
Swim trunks now under his jeans, Vince made his way to the pools, with a dark blue towel thrown over his shoulder. For once, he wasn't going to workout. He was just going to relax and wind down today. Walking in through the main door, his phone went off. It was a text message from his sister, Victoria. I just got in deep shit with the rents. surprise you? but i need you to call me tonight. Vince replied with a quick Okay and shoved the phone back into his pockets. He rolled his eyes. Victoria was always getting into trouble. No doubt, this time it was with her new boyfriend. The one Vince strongly disapproved of.
With a face of irritation, Vince entered the room with the large pool. He watched as a girl dove into the water and he smiled. He wouldn't be alone today. He took his jeans and his hoodie off, revealing a nicely sculpted upper torso - thanks to basketball - and his yellow swim trunks which had a black line down each side.
He jumped in from the side. After he skimmed the bottom with his, he swam back to the surface.

Lyra swam across the pool a few times be for she heard a splash. she would have looked to see who it was but she was to into the pattern of swimming. it was strange, the only reason she had come was to wake up, but when is got into exercise she would carry on doing it for a while.
she had carried on doing strokes for a while until she decided to take a brake. on her last lap she took off her goggles and wrapped them around her wrist. when she came to the wall she came up from the water. then used the wall to push herself up. she laid back on the Sid, with her feet still in the water, and caught her breath. she looked around the pool and could just see the head of some one there.
so that was the person that jumped in. she looked around the rest of the building. no one else was there. she sat up, but staid sitting on the Sid and looked over at the guy in the water.

Vince swam a bit, and dived off the diving board a few times. He did a cannon ball, even. But the pool was too large, so not many waves were produced. Vince wasn't extremely large, either. It would take a lot of cannon balls to get this pool going with major waves. He smirked to himself. He'd have to do that one day; get all his buddies together and make waves in the pool. Heh.
Vince peered over at the other swimmer from the water. The girl was pretty into her swimming, so he didn't want to distract her. He knew how it felt to be bothered when his mind was set on something. As the girl finally emerged from the water and sat on the side, Vince dived into the pool and came up next to her. Vince certainly wasn't shy, and he hated ignoring people when they were near him; even if he didn't know them.
He laughed a bit as he saw what she was wearing. Her bathing suit was yellow. "We match." Vince pulled himself from the water and sat a few feet away from her. He pointed to his yellow swim trunks. If you didn't count the black stripes on either side of his suit, they were matching.

She looked round the water but couldn't see any one. She wondered where he had gone. She jumped when he came out of the water near her, then laughed at herself and placed her hand on her hart and felt it betting faster, "hey don't you know not to sneak up on a girl like that" she said as she laughed. She hated it when things made her jump but it was pretty funny at the same time, because it always ended up being something stupid that made her jump.
She looked down at her swim suit after what he said then back at him. They did match. Wired only two people in the pool but the ended up matching. "Hey we do. I just don't have black stripes. God if I did we could be twin." she smiled "im Lyra by the way she said holding out her hand that was still wet, but she guessed he wouldn't mind as he would be the same.

Vincent laughed. "I'm sorry." He didn't mean to make her jumpy. But it was still funny. He actually liked being scared. Not seriously scared. But little things like surprising an expected person. It was an adrenaline rush. Exhilaration. Definitely not as good as the exhilaration he got when playing sports. That was totally different.
Lyra. That was a nice name...he guessed. It wasn't boring, anyway. "Vincent." He responded, with a genuine smile. as he shook her hand. They were both wet, so a wet handshake was only natural. "So why are you here? I mean...you're obviously here because you want to swim. But, what brought on your want to swim...?" He smirked at his confusing question. It even confused him a bit.
ooc; wow, definitely a bad post. i lost my muse. sorry.

"No don't be sorry, i jump at everything. You nave some thing it’s probably made me jump." she laughed. It was true practically everything made her jump, not because she was scared of it, it just startled her. It would always make yer laugh when she jumped at nothing.
"nice to meet you Vincent." she smiled, and laughed at his next question. He seemed to be tripping over is own words and confusing himself. "My mum thought i was working today so she rang me really early. i decided i needed to jump in a cold pool to wake myself up. How about you, any other reason than wanting to cannon balls into the pool."

ooc; sorry it has taken me forever to reply. =[
"You too, Lyra." He responded, with a smile. In truth, it was nice to meet her. Usually, "Nice to meet you" is just a cliche line that everyone says without thought. But Vince rarely lies, or says things just out of habit. And in truth, he loved to meet new people. Especially people he first gets along with.
"Why am I here..." Pondering the question, he looked up for a moment. "Well," He started, as if he was going to have something important to say, "no reason really. Just nothing else to do." He admitted to her. "You're a good swimmer, you know. Great endurance. Are you on the swim team?" Truth be told, Vince never really paid attention to the swim team's rosters or their stats. But then again, he was interested in all sports...he just didn't like swimming on a school team. And swimming and basketball were during the same season.

"thats ok, i normally come here when i get bored. i like to swim it gets stuff off my mind, you know?" he might not know about swimming taking things off his mind, but some other sport maybe, most guys did sports when they wanted to get there mid off stuff.
"nope not on the swim team, just do it for fun really." she smiled "and thanks, I've been swimming for a long time. maybe if i get bored this year i might join, but i don't know i don't want to make some thing i like to turn competitive and it be ruined. how about you, are you on any sports teams."

Vince nodded, and answered automatically, "Basketball. I'm on the basketball team. I've played basketball every since I could walk.." He wasn't used to people not knowing who he was. He was some kind of legend..the big basketball star. But he liked that she didn't know who he was. It made something to talk about.
"Well, are you on any teams? Volleyball, soccer?" Vince said those teams because she looked like a volleyball or soccer girl.

she shook her head "nope I'm one no teams, I've always wanted to be on the cheer leading squad, just never got round to it i suppose. I've had to focus on my studies and all that boring stuff, but maybe this year I'll try out." she toled Vincent
"oh, your that Vincent, well I've heard of you, and seen you play. your really good." she said with a smile. obviously he would be since he had been playing all his life, and was on the team. there school team was really good, so you had to be amazing to get onto it.

Vince nodded and smiled. Cheerleaders were hot, and yet sometimes during the game they annoyed the hell out of him. Big distraction. But he eventually learned to drown them out. And when he got a chance to sit the bench, he spent half of his time looking at them. Typical teenage boy. "You would make an amazing cheerleader." As soon as he said the words, Vince put his face in his hands. "I'm sorry, that was a stupid thing to say." He didn't want her to think he was hitting on her.
He smiled back at her. "Oh, well thank you."

she laughed, she knew haw guys saw the cheerleaders and they didn't just admire them for their cheering skills. "its ok, its taken as a complement." she added. she didn't mind people thinking she looked good there was no harm in that, right?
"it the truth, your a bit of a hero round these parts right. your family must be really proud of you. you can probably get into any collage with a sports scholarship. Not that you couldn't get into any collage on your own. Oh God I'm babbling" she looked down and laughed at herself. "sorry if i offended you in any of that." she smiled at Vincent
