Marshall wasn't quite ready to head back to his dorm yet. Why should he do such a thing when he had an entire classroom to himself? It was rare to find yourself in a place where you could be truly alone for more than two seconds at Adelaide Academy. And actually, it was a rarity for Marshall to be alone period.
But the primary reason he stayed back? He'd been caught up in the middle of a drawing when the bell rang to signal the end of class. Yes, he heard the bell ring, he just never left his seat. He was too busy adding the finishing touches. This often happened when Marshall got into his art - Everything else was forgotten. It was a tad bit unhealthy, but for Marshall, that was no big deal. No one considered him the most balanced person in the world anyway, though he was getting better.
He hoped to someday become famous, maybe under a pseudonym though. He wasn't sure if he could handle actual attention from the public. He just wanted his work to be recognized. Right now, he was in the middle of drawing a picture of a brown haired girl wearing a dress with her arms folded across her chest, a zombie with rabbit ears, and a teenage boy who looked strangely like Marshall wearing a rather large hat. It was clear that the scene was supposed to be a knock off of Alice in Wonderland. It was all drawn in a highly comic style. Marshall didn't take his work very seriously at all. If it wasn't fun to some degree, why do it? Oh, there was certainly work involved, he wasn't about to deny that. He just liked to have fun while doing the work.
Marshall looked down at the picture and laughed. He was in his own world at the moment, and it was surprisingly fun.

Roseline walked into the classroom, a bit disoriented. She wasn't feeling too well and needed time by herself.
She noticed an older boy sitting there, drawing. She mumbled a sorry avoiding his gaze and tried to walk away, but realized it wasn't too nice to barge on someone and should excuse herself properly, not like a complete caveman like she formerly acted.
"I'm sorry for barging in on you!" she said in a shy tone and blushed lightly. "I just needed a place to rest my thoughts!"

Marshall gave a slight jolt as he sensed someone else's presence in the room. His eyes shot in the direction of the door immediately, relieved it was just another Adelaide student. One that he didn't know that particularly well, though she looked to be an uppeclassman at least.
"It's fine. You're entitled to use this room just as much as I am."
He smiled, though did not stare directly at the girl. It was just a habit of his. Still staring a little off to the side, but in the general direction of the female, he spoke once again.
"I'm Marshall. And you would be?"

She looked up, a blush being visible on her cheeks. “And yet again I am sorry once again. Um..I’m Roseline, nice to meet you,” she said and continued walking to wards him, extending her hand on the way.
“Thanks for letting me stay here. Life has been,” she paused thinking of a good enough word to use, “harsh at the least, I just needed a place to clear and think about my thoughts for a while. I promise not to pry in any way. And if might inquire, what is that you are drawing?” Rosely asked tilting her head to wards the painting, a curious look able to be seen in her dark eyes.

"Nice to meet you too," Marshall said this with a small smile. He couldn't ignore the fact that he felt uncomfortable, but he needed to get over this.
Marshall nodded at Roseline's explanation. "Yeah, that's kind of why I'm here too. That and it's a nice quiet place to draw," He laughed. He paled a little as she asked him about the drawing. Well, he couldn't tell her the whole truth, she'd think he was a nutcase (which he was, but that was beside the point). So he just decided to go with a half truth.
"It's supposed to be a comic based off of Alice and Wonderland."
Just ignore the fact that the Mad Hatter looks exactly like him.

Roseline reflected a smile and went over to a desk next to Marshall. She sat down and put her elbows on the small table . Sighing, she examined the drawing more carefully.
“Pretty good,” she commented, “A true work of art. My mother is a photographer and she sometimes paints, so she taught me the basic things that you need to learn in order to be a true artist. I have a bit of talent myself, but I guess I chose not to explore it!” She looked around the art room and gave a shy smile. “From my point of view fashion is better! It’s some kind of art at least I think so. But I love to work in these kind of art rooms. Spending tiem ehre makes me welcome and it reminds me a bit of my childhood,” Roseline gave a small blush as she realized how much she was talking.
She was truly a talkative person when it came to meeting new people. At times that was good, and at different times that was kind of bad. Her rich French accent didn’t help much either. To some she sounded funny, to other she sounded elegant. This country and its people were a tad confusing sometimes.

"That's cool," Marshall noted. It was nice to know that he and Roseline had something in common, even if it was technically through her mother. But he figured Roseline had to know a little about art. At what she said about fashion, Marshall shrugged.
"Yeah, fashion is an art of sorts. A lot of people look down on comics because supposedly they're not really one of the fine arts, but trust me, a lot goes into them."
He had mixed feelings on her accent. Anything foreign had a tendency to give him the chills now (thanks Chelsea), but her voice did sound beautiful. Marshall was torn between letting Roseline get a really good view of the picture and hiding it from her sight completely. The latter would be extremely suspicious, so he couldn't do that. Thus, he just stayed where he was, then looked over at Roseline.
"I'd just rather do art that makes people smile than art that creeps people out or makes them depressed. I already went through a phase like that, why go back to it?" Of course, Marshall's mental state was far different during that time period. Part of the reason he was so focused on keeping things funny was to remind himself not to take things so seriously.

Roseline put her head in her hands and sighed. Her hair was pretty messy today and she wasn’t very proud of that, but it looked chic enough for school. She smiled as she looked up.
“That’s nice! I like happy things, although I do enjoy a bit of depression at times. That is mostly what I draw, that and nature; my best qualities in art. I also love photography, but like I said I don’t have time to explore my interests as much as I’d like to.”
She crinkled her nose and inhaled the scent of some opened small cans of paint on the nearby desk. She didn’t particularly enjoy the smell, but she tried to ignore it and return to her conversation with Marshall.
“So…what year are you in?” she asked, while tracing a finger along the margins of the small table.

"You enjoy a bit of depression?" Marshall raised an eyebrow. It took him all of two seconds to understand that she meant in artwork, but still, 'enjoy' and 'depression' were two words that didn't seem to go right together in a sentence. Yes, it was nice having a bit of drama in your work. ...actually, a lot of drama. But not in real life.
Although some of the students at Adelaide might disagree with this sentiment.
"You draw too? That's cool. Never tried photography...well, as an art I mean, but it sounds like it might be fun." He grinned. "I'm a senior. You?"
It was hard to believe he was at his last year at Adelaide, and mixed feelings came as a result. Though his years at the school were a roller coaster, he'd still made a lot of memories here and was nervous about going on to college.

Roseline smiled and got up, searching the room. It was a pretty big art room and she liked it.
“Yes, you should try photography, especially in black and white. It accentuates everything and makes it even more pure!” she said and looked into his eyes.
“I’m a junior to answer your other question, although I can pass for someone a lot older if I put on enough makeup!” she laughed at her comment and looked at some paints. “Do you like sports?”

"Guess you do know a little bit about photography then." Yes, he could see pictures being better in black and white. Somehow that seemed more artsy to him. Anyone could grab a disposable camera and snap a color picture of something. But black and white pictures were harder to come by these days. Plus they looked more elegant. "You know, Roseline, I think you might be on your way to convincing me to check out a new medium." He laughed.
Drawing comics would always be his favorite hobby, though, and he was confident of that. He'd been doing silly drawings and doodles since he was a little kid. Marshall smiled a little at the makeup comment. Truthfully, he never saw much of a point to makeup. A little bit was fine, but not so much that it masked the face underneath. Marshall bit back a laugh at Roseline's next question. "I suppose I might like them more if I was any good at them." He pondered. "...though I haven't even tried some of the sports we have. Let me guess, you're going to suggest that I try out one of those next?" Not a bad idea, actually. "What about you? You into any sports?"

Rosely smiled and looked at him; she was having fun here.
“Well, good, it’s always nice to try out new things! Give me a call and then we can meet. I can give you my camera and let you ‘rent’ my little studio! Although you can barely call it a studio, my roommate is awfully mad at me for using our closet, that is rather big if I might add,” she said and laughed a bit.
She tilted her head a little and nodded, looking very certain at that moment. “I believe you should try sports! It’s so much fun! And I don’t believe a word you’re saying about you not being good at them. I think you’re going to be great!” she added, with a positive look on her face.
“ And yes, I do play several sports, although one is not considered a sport by many. I’m in the soccer team and I’ve been playing tennis since I was 7, but they don’t have that here. And…um…I do cheerleading,” she said, blushing a bit, “ and I know what most people do think of cheerleaders, so that’s why I don’t want to admit it as often, but I enjoy it!”

Marshall laughed. "Yeah, roommates tend to be like that. You can't live with them, but you can't live without them either. Especially when you're depending on them to pay part of the rent." Which, of course, you didn't have to do in the school's dorms, but Marshall had gone on a little tangent there.
"Well, I guess I could give it a try. I could give anything a try."
Playing sports though would draw attention to himself, which was something he still found hard to do. Not because he was afraid of being made fun of or anything, but because of his paranoia. Just general paranoia. Marshall listened as Roseline listed off the sports that she did. Marshall felt a bit guilty, as he was one of those people who didn't give cheerleaders that much credit. But that was only because cheerleaders had the stereotype of being mean snobs. Roseline wasn't coming off like that at all.
"Hey, if you enjoy it, you enjoy it. Who cares what others think?" He smiled a big smile. It was the truth, and sometimes people needed to be reminded of this. Himself included. He added the final touches to his picture. "Chelsea's going to laugh when she sees this picture. After she gets over the fact that I drew her in a dress." Marshall shook his head.

“Thanks for telling me that! I try not to think what people say about me, but at times I get worried, so…” ?she started, a bit of a curious look rested upon her face, “Who’s Chelsea? Your girlfriend?” Roseline asked, as her heart started to bit a tad faster. She didn’t have a crush on Marshall, but she did develop a very small liking to him.
She looked at her fingernails and then rubbed her hands together as a cold chill came over her. She was a bit chilly. She sighed and awaited his answer, trying to look patient, while also keeping a smile on her face.

"Yeah, it's human nature. We tend to worry about what others think of us." Sometimes it was a good thing, sometimes it was a bad thing. In high school, it was more often a bad thing, because it often effected one's self esteem.
Marshall let out a chuckle at Roseline's question. "No, not girlfriend. She's just a friend of mine." Marshall played around with the pen in his hand, suddenly growing a bit nervous. They had, after all, hit on personal territory. Chelsea was a fictional character of his own creation. But she was one that he could interact with as well, simply because of a chemical imbalance within his brain.
But did he really have to tell Roseline this? Of course not. He was already hitting it off wonderfully with her, and he was growing pretty comfortable talking after a relatively short amount of time. He tossed his pen up in the air and caught it.
"I would like to see your studio at some point." He said suddenly.
